At Barn Owl Garden Center, we care deeply about getting you the best products possible. All of our plants are healthy upon leaving the store, and our hard goods come from brands we trust.

Returns

Hard Goods Policy

Tools, pots, decor, soil, fertilizer, and other non-plant items follow this return policy.

Within Two Weeks

Unopened and unused products returned within two weeks of purchase receive a full money-back refund.

After Two Weeks

Unopened and unused products returned after two weeks receive full store credit.

Opened or Slightly Used

A 25% restocking fee applies, and the remainder is issued as store credit.

Plant Warranties

Our Plant Guarantee

Our plants are hand-selected by the highest quality growers throughout the Midwest and cared for rigorously to ensure you take home the best possible product. All plants are healthy upon leaving our store.

Annuals & Tropicals

No Warranty

Annuals and tropicals are not covered by a warranty once they leave the store. These plants are seasonal by nature, and successful growth depends heavily on care and environment after purchase.

Perennials & Shrubs

One-Year Warranty

Perennials and qualifying shrubs carry a one-year warranty if the following feeding and planting conditions are met, with documented proof:

Planting in the recommended hole size
Watering the recommended amount
Using the recommended soil and starter fertilizer

Qualifying Shrubs Include: Hydrangeas, lilacs, dogwoods, chokeberries, knockout roses, easy elegance roses, viburnums, potentilla, barberry, honeysuckle, sand cherry, fruit trees, redbuds, and serviceberries.

Specialty Plants

40% Store Credit

We understand that specialty plants can be a little more temperamental. If you follow the feeding and planting guidelines above and the plant does not make it after a year, we'll give you 40% store credit to replace it.

Specialty Plants Include: Specialty roses, Japanese maples, willows, butterfly bushes, and other shrubs or trees not listed under Perennials & Shrubs.

Sale & Clearance Items

No Warranty

Any plant purchased at a sale price or on clearance is void of any warranty. Sale pricing reflects the final value of the item.
