Community Supported Agriculture

What Is a Farm Share?

A Farm Share, also known as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), is one of the most direct connections you can have with the food you eat. When you join our Farm Share Program, you become a partner with a network of small, local farms. You purchase a share of the season's harvest upfront, and in return, you receive a regular box of what's freshest and most abundant that week.

This isn't the grocery store model of year-round availability at the cost of flavor and miles traveled. Farm Share produce is harvested days, sometimes hours, before it reaches your hands. The difference in taste is immediate and undeniable.

For the farms, your commitment means financial stability at the start of the growing season, when it matters most. For you, it means the best produce of the season, a deeper connection to where your food comes from, and the satisfaction of supporting the people who grow it.

Simple By Design

How It Works

Getting started with your Farm Share is straightforward. Here's everything you need to know from sign-up to pickup.

01

Choose Your Share

Decide between the 8-week share (July 18, September 5) or the 16-week full-season share (approx. June 20, October 3). Both plans include enough produce for a family each week, with weekly pickup right here at Barn Owl.

02

Pay Upfront

Your payment goes directly to supporting the farms at the start of the season, when capital is most critical. This is what makes the CSA model so meaningful, your investment makes the harvest possible.

03

We Pack Your Box

Each week our farm partners harvest and deliver the freshest produce of the season. We pack your share at Barn Owl, ready for pickup. No guessing what's in it, we include a weekly contents list.

04

Pick Up at Barn Owl

Swing by our Carol Stream location on your designated pickup day. While you're here, browse the garden center, grab a cup of coffee, and chat with our team about what to do with this week's haul.
