Now Hiring: Plant & Garden Center Associate
Barn Owl Garden Center is looking for a hardworking, team-oriented person who loves plants, enjoys working outdoors, and is ready to jump in wherever needed.
Pay: Based on experience
Hours: 15–30 hours per week
About the Role
This position supports many areas of the store, with a focus on plant care, customer service, and daily operations. Responsibilities include watering and caring for plants, helping customers with questions and purchases, working behind the register, cleaning and organizing, and assisting the team with day-to-day tasks around the garden center.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, likes staying busy, and wants to learn more about plants and garden center operations.
What We’re Looking For
Plant knowledge or prior experience in the plant industry is a plus, but not required. A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn are most important.
Ideal candidates should be comfortable:
- Working outdoors in a variety of conditions
- Being on their feet for long periods of time
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Watering, moving plants, and handling physically active tasks
- Helping customers and working closely with coworkers
- Using a point-of-sale system at the register
- Working holiday weekends including Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day
