Barista Position – Feathered Saddle Coffee at Barn Owl Garden Center
We’re looking for an experienced barista to help grow and shape Feathered Saddle Coffee, a brand-new café inside Barn Owl Garden Center. This is a great opportunity to be part of something from the ground up, bringing high-quality coffee to a beautiful, plant-filled environment.
Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve exceptional espresso drinks, drip coffee, and specialty beverages

Develop new recipes and house-made syrups
-
Maintain and clean coffee equipment, ensuring smooth daily operations

Manage inventory and coordinate with suppliers
-
Assist with café marketing, including social media images, seasonal promotions, and menu boards

Open/close the café independently
-
Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service
-
Handle cash transactions accurately
-
Adjust service during busy garden center events
Qualifications:
-
1+ year of specialty coffee experience required
-
Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and recipes
-
Ability to work independently and problem-solve
-
Excellent customer service and communication skills
-
Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 lbs
-
Weekend availability required (some holidays)

Food handler’s certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Skills:

Passion for coffee culture and continued learning

Interest in plants, gardening, or botanical environments

Experience with opening/closing procedures

Basic tea preparation knowledge

Retail or cash-handling experience
Compensation & Benefits:

$15–18/hour + tips

Schedule:
